Guests appreciate the traditional charm, friendly service, and convenient location, while noting some limitations with room cleanliness, WiFi, and RV park accessibility.

Guests often praise

  • Cozy, warmly decorated rooms and villas featuring fireplaces and a peaceful garden atmosphere.
  • Friendly, helpful owners who provide useful local tips and assist with planning activities.
  • A pleasantly quiet environment ideal for relaxation and enjoying nature, including birdwatching and orchid photography.
  • The well-equipped RV park with hookups, shade, and a communal gathering space with a fireplace.

Worth knowing

  • Some rooms may need deeper cleaning, with occasional dust and limited WiFi signal inside accommodations.
  • The outdoor pool tends to be chilly despite the warm climate.
  • RV sites are narrow in width, and large vehicles may face difficulty accessing the park due to narrow roads and parked cars.
  • Water pressure can be low and electricity may fluctuate, especially in the morning.
  • Toilet paper is not always provided, which may be unexpected given the price point for some guests.

About this property

Welcome to Villa Patzcuaro Garden Hotel & RV Park

Villa Patzcuaro Garden Hotel & RV Park offers warmly decorated rooms and villas set within a rustic environment that includes an outdoor pool, steam room, and a garden area. The property also accommodates RV travelers, providing essential amenities such as water hookups, 15-amp outlets, and sewer drains at each site. Guests have noted the peaceful, home-like atmosphere, with mature trees giving natural shade, though some have mentioned spotty WiFi and occasional issues with water pressure and electricity fluctuations.

Located on a quiet residential street in Pátzcuaro, the hotel is about 3 km from notable landmarks like Casa de los Once Patios and the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud. Access to Highway 120 is under a kilometer away, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. Nearby attractions include the scenic Lake Pátzcuaro, popular for bird watching, and cultural sites such as Plaza Vasco de Quiroga.

The property caters to a diverse range of visitors, including those traveling with RVs and LGBTQ+ guests, as it is welcoming and inclusive. While some reviews praise the comfortable accommodations and helpful, friendly staff, a few point out the need for deeper cleaning in certain areas and limitations related to the narrow roads and entrances for larger RVs. This balance suggests the hotel is well suited for travelers seeking a traditional, tranquil experience rather than luxury.

Travelers have found the location to offer easy access to local shops and eateries, with a mix of nearby hotels providing alternative lodging options. Check-in begins at 15:00 and check-out is by noon. For those arriving by air, nearby airports include General Francisco Mujica International Airport and Uruapan International Airport, both reachable by car within about an hour.

Great place to stay, comfortable, clean, friendly... It is not a fancy place but has that traditional something you will love... plus has it's own fireplace in every room...

The rooms would need some deep cleaning, the smell of dust is pretty hard. Internet access i fast but the signal in the rooms is close to none. Absolutely fantastic breakfest, freshly prepared and tasty! The owner is very kind and helps getting your wishes fulfilled. When you ask him he will arrange some plans for you. He is having some great tips and hints! Close to the hotel there are shops including Oxxo and a couple hundreds meters further a shopping mall. There is about 15 min walk to the embarkment spot to Janizio and about 30-40 min walk to city center. You may also take colectivo to the city. The stop is in fromt of the shopping mall.

We are touring Mexico in a van and used the campground which has water faucets, 15 amp outlets, and sewer drains at each site. There are mature trees for some shade. WiFi is spotty, fine for recreation. There is some daytime traffic noise- this is a convenient city location. Owners are on site but not in your face. They ask that pets be leashed. This is our second visit for a rest after wild camping. Highly recommended.

Great place. Nice owner. Very affordable and with hook ups. There is a pool but it’s chilly , hence it is a lot cooler here!

Very pretty. The people that work there are nice. A little more expensive than other places we went, so you would think toilet paper would be provided... but the shower was hot so I can't complain.

Wouldn't miss staying here. The RV park is close to el Centro. I enjoy watching adobe brick making and photographing orchids and birds. Fire at night in the casita is not to be missed.

Great RV park. It’s small and quaint. Felt like home. We have a 32’ fifth wheel. We were the biggest RV there for the 2 months we stayed. Most of the RVs that visit the park are class B, smaller class C, and truck campers. Leading up to the entrance the road is narrow which could be problematic for bigger RVs. Plus, the entrance is a bit on a curve. The width of the sites is narrow but there’s plenty of space length wise. Water pressure is very low and there’s some fluctuations in the electricity mostly in the morning. I believe the culprit is our need for coffee. There’s a small building that has a fireplace, table and chairs, and couches. Great place to gather. There’s also a small building that has bathroom/shower for anyone that needs it. Note for bigger RVs: While we were there a brand new building with several businesses opened up at the corner of the main road. The amount of cars parked on the road is problematic. If you have a wide/larger RV you will not be able to get through. The other way in is also not an option since there’s no way you’d be able to turn into the property and there are trees in the way. The only option for wide/larger RVs is to arrive/leave on Sundays since most of the businesses are closed.
